BossGirl Bloggers is a wonderful resource for bloggers!  This group helps beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers get to know each other and support one another in this crazy blogging journey!

The founder of BossGirl Bloggers, Lauren Duclos, created an awesome winter tag with 15 winter/holiday themed questions.

If you’ve been tagged, please answer the questions!  Then tag at least 5 other blogger friends to complete the questions.  Before you finish, tag the person who tagged you, so that they can read your answers, too!

Got it?  Ok, here goes!!

One: What is your favorite holiday tradition?

My favorite holiday tradition is going to be with my family on Christmas Day.  As a child we would go to my Grandmother’s house.  She only lived an hour away, and we saw her every week, but Christmas Day was special!  The tree, the apple cider, the mincemeat pie…it was just magical.  Today we usually see both me and my husband’s families on Christmas Day.  Now, I experience the magic of Christmas through my 3-year-old daughter’s eyes.  Nothing is better than watching your child light up at the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas Day!

Two: What is your favorite go-to winter lippies?

During the winter time, I often keep my eyes neutral and go for a bright red lipstick.  I am OBSESSED with Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Amour.  There is a touch of orange in this color, but it STAYS PUT!  I can put this on first thing in the morning, drink coffee, eat lunch, and it will still be going strong later that day.  I’ve even taken a shower with it on, and some has still been left on my lips when I got out!  Seriously, it’s like a lip tattoo.  It is not overly drying, but I do apply some EOS at least once a day (but that’s just my habit).  This is a matte color, so there’s no shine or gloss to it.  I actually love that, because instead you get that freshly-bitten lip look!

If I’m feeling less bold, I go for Maybelline’s ColorSensational in Pink and Proper.  This is a pretty, feminine bright pink.  It gives your entire face a lift!

Bold lip color that stays in place.

Three: What is your favorite winter scent? (candles, perfume, etc.)

That’s a hard question to answer, as I have so many scents I love.  My favorite candle is Yankee Candle’s North Pole. Part of the appeal is that it was a housewarming gift, and I associate it with our first Christmas in our new home.  But, more than that, it just smells sooooooo good!  Fresh, with a hint of peppermint.  It is not overwhelming, but brings a subtle scent of the holidays into your home.  I also love Yankee Candle’s Christmas Cookie.

I also love the scent of cinnamon and cloves, and I often have a candle warmer turned on in the kitchen.  As for perfume, ironically enough, my favorite right now is Vince Camuto’s Capri.  This is a light floral scent with hints of violet and peach.  I know, not exactly wintery, but hey, I’m a rebel!

Four: What is your go-to winter fashion?

I love over-the-knee boots.  To me, they freshen up any outfit.  You can wear anything and look a bit more put together with otk boots.  I wear a lot of sweaters in the winter.  I am extremely cold-natured, so really, I have no choice.  When I get bored with the ol’ sweater and jeans combo, my trusty otk boots come to the rescue!

My Favorites:

Five: What is your all-time favorite holiday movie?

Hands down, Home Alone.  But only the first one, I really didn’t like the sequels very much.  I have very special memories of watching this movie with my Mom growing up.  She loved it.  We would eat cookies, watch the movie in her bed, and laugh until we cried!

Six: What is your all-time favorite holiday tune?

I love Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas.”  Lady Antebellum has a really cool version of that song, too.  I also love “We Three Kings.”

Seven: Do you prefer to travel or stay home for the holidays?

We always travel, but only about an hour away from home.  I can’t imagine staying home!

Eight: What is your favorite winter skincare must-have?

My skin gets so dry in the winter.  My favorite hydrating lotion is Avon’s Skin So Soft.  It lasts for 24 hours and leaves your skin feeling fresh and very soft.

For my face, I use Roc Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer.  I heard a dermatologist say once that retinol was the most powerful anti-aging component for the skin.  I try to use it day and night.  I also love Cerave Eye Repair Creme.  I usually use this at bedtime.  It helps reduce puffiness and dark circles, which, with a 3 year-old, can definitely be a problem for me!

Nine: What is your favorite winter hair care product?

I really like DevaCurl Wave Maker.  This stuff is pure magic for my hair.  I have naturally wavy hair.  In the summer, I use a sea salt spray on it, but in the winter I need something a bit heavier.  This tube of awesomeness gives me everything I need.  After I shower I leave my hair up in a towel for about a half hour.  When I take it down, I do not brush it.  Instead, I finger comb it and then apply the DevaCurl.  I let it dry naturally, and when it’s finished, I have soft, touchable waves!

Ten: What is your favorite winter activity?

Cuddling up with my family on the couch to watch a movie!  The cold weather usually puts me in nest mode, and I am perfectly content sitting by the fire with coffee, watching the latest My Little Pony antics with my daughter.

Eleven: What is your favorite must-have winter beauty product?

I have a couple!  I love It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact foundation.  This is a full-coverage foundation that blurs pores, hides imperfections, and gives your face a lovely glow.

I am also addicted to Urban Decay’s Naked Eyeshadow palette.  This palette has EVERYTHING!  I love the fact that you can create incredibly natural, neutral looks, but it also has a lot of highly pigmented colors for added drama.  Best of all, this eyeshadow palette comes in matte, satin, and sparkly shades.

Twelve: Do you love or hate the snow?

I guess I have a love-hate relationship with snow.  I love it when it’s all white and fresh.  I hate it when it gets dirty and ends up piled in parking lots.  When I was in grad school I lived in New England.  My first winter there, we got 110 inches of snow.  That was enough for me, honestly!

Thirteen: What is one item on your wish list this year?

It’s kind of silly, but I would really like to have this Kate Spade Plush Leopard Hat with Ears.  Too cute!

Fourteen: What is your favorite holiday treat?

My aunt’s homemade peanut butter fudge!  It’s so good that I have to hide it to keep from eating it all!

Fifteen: Do you finish your holiday shopping before December, or are you a last-minute shopper?

I’m the girl you see in the store on Christmas Eve!  Unless you are at home, because you got all your shopping done before Thanksgiving!

Now I nominate these 5 wonderful bloggers to try the winter tag!
